The Hardest Wordle Words
The streak-breakers, by category. 755 of 2325 official answers contain a repeated letter — and that's where most failed streaks happen.
Words with one repeated letter (696)
Repeated letters are the most common reason solid players run out of guesses. A standard solver flow assumes each unknown letter is new — when an answer doubles up, that flow stalls.

How to defend against the hard ones
- If your fourth guess narrowed candidates to 2–3 words and they differ only in one position, consider whether a doubled letter is possible — re-examine your yellow tiles.
- Save Y as a "vowel substitute" tester for the rare consonant-only words.
- When your guesses are stalling and the candidate list isn't shrinking, pivot to a scout guess that tests one of the rare letters.
